Toilet paper rolls. Who knew?

February 11, 2010

I have a project I have every intention of completing… I just have to get to it. This project involves toilet paper rolls. Stay tuned. I am determined to get it done. Really.

Looking for some inspiration for my somewhat secret project, I came across these wonderful sculptures by Junior Fritz Jacquet on LoudDreams.

I love the idea of taking “trash” and making something beautiful. Any other art/artists like this out there?

Scanwood Packaging Redesign

February 10, 2010

I saw this over on The Dieline and thought it was a very clever, eye-cathing way to visually communicate that the products are made of natural materials. Simple. Clean. Effective. Nice. And the utensils’ natural finish against that white makes them look really high-end, despite the dirt.

Plus, I love, love, love wooden cooking utensils. I think I have three or four wooden spoons, one of which is hand carved. Adam still doesn’t understand why he can’t use certain ones to stir red Kool-Aid though.
